About Shakori Hills:
As the world continues to confront the COVID-19 pandemic, we have had to make the difficult decision to postpone our beloved Spring Shakori GrassRoots Festival to the Fall, October 7-10, 2021. All previously purchased tickets will be honored there or at the next Shakori Hills GrassRoots Music Festival of your choice.
In the spirit of beginning to safely bring us all together again, however, we are very excited to announce GrassRoots Live! at Shakori Hills: a pod-based, socially-distanced, limited capacity series of one night concerts on the Meadow Stage that will begin on April 17 with Keller Williams and end June 11 & 12 with Donna The Buffalo.
About Del McCoury:
Undeniably one of the most talented, revered and vital groups in bluegrass history, Shakori Hills is thrilled to welcome back the Del McCoury Band. Born in Bakersville, NC, McCoury is a national treasure who has been the epitome of the "high lonesome sound" for over four decades, including a stint as lead singer for Bill Monroe's Blue Grass Boys. With a sound encompassing shades of blues and gospel, his crowds run the gamut from tie-dyed neo-hippie jammers to button-down yuppies to suspendered good ol' boys. The band's instrumental and vocal firepower, deep-rooted dedication to bluegrass heritage, consummate showmanship, and high spirits continue to spread their influence. With sons Ronnie and Rob by his side, their impeccable bluegrass virtuosity remains as stunning as ever. McCoury and his band have won more International Bluegrass Music Association awards than any other artist in history.
